Financial Analyst Audits housing authority programs for compliance; implements procedural changes; develops and monitors program budgets; prepares reports; reconciliations, and financial statements; reads, interprets, and communicates government regulations and makes policy recommendations; analyzes funding proposals; performs other financial and operational analysis as required. Requires strong communication skills, attention-to-detail, initiative, intuition, and proficiency with a variety of computer applications including MS Word and Excel. Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in accounting and considerable experience in fund accounting or an equivalent combination of training and experience is preferred. Must maintain a valid NC driver’s license. Pre-employment drug screening and criminal records check required.Top

Housing Inspector Leased Housing Department: Performs initial inspections of property per local building codes, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development requirements and lead hazard requirements. Assists in scheduling appointments with tenants and owners. Performs re-inspections of previously failed units to ensure compliance with housing quality standards (“HQS”). Completes inspection checklists and documents HQS violations. Inputs inspection data into the computer system. Prepares certification of rent reasonableness on all new units and for annual rent increases. Assists the Inspection Supervisor on an annual basis in gathering data for updating the Rent Reasonableness Database. Performs related work as required. Requires high school diploma or GED with technical level course work in carpentry, plumbing, electrical or related building trades preferred, and 1 to 2 years of experience in the building trade or inspections fields; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Pre-employment drug test and criminal background check required. Must maintain a valid NC Driver’s License. Visual Assessment Certification for Lead-Based Paint is also required.

Housing Manager I Housing Management Department: Responsibilities include collecting rents, informing tenants of policies and procedures, inspecting units, leasing/transferring residents, and investigating lease violations. Courtesy and tact are required in daily contact with residents, outside human service agencies and other employees. Must be highly organized, motivated, and a self-starter. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and a 10-key calculator are required. Requires High School diploma or its equivalent. College level training in economics, sociology, or psychology with considerable experience in property management and/or real estate or an equivalent combination of training and experience is preferred. Pre-employment drug test and criminal records check required. Must possess a valid NC driver’s license.
